PETA’S SEXY ‘PILGRIM’ LANDS IN PROVIDENCE
TO GIVE AWAY TOFURKY!
Beauty Dishes Up Free Vegetarian Roasts for the Holidays
Providence, R.I. — A sexy “Pilgrim,” along with members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), will hand out free Tofurky—a soy-based roast that includes savory stuffing—in downtown Providence as part of PETA’s national tour to promote a vegetarian Thanksgiving. (Editor's note: Big sigh...here we go again. Those sex-crazed folks at PETA are at it again. Using sex to sell their point-of-view) PETA’s “Pilgrim” hopes to reach people’s hearts through their stomachs and is urging consumers to stay true to the holiday spirit this Thanksgiving by giving turkeys something to be thankful for:
Date: Thursday, November 24
Time: 12 noon – 1 p.m.
Place: Kennedy Plaza at Dorance Street
Why has PETA’s “Pilgrim” traded in her musket for a plateful of Tofurkey? Because 300 million turkeys are killed each year—more than 40 million during the holiday season alone—for human consumption. Tens of thousands of birds—known in nature to be loving and protective parents, fast runners, and intelligent animals who can outwit their pursuers by reasoning—are crowded into windowless warehouses, where disease, smothering, and heart attacks are common. (Editor's note: Lies, damn lies and statistics. Shut up and pass the cranberries, please and try to back up those claims with facts!) Bred and drugged to produce abnormal amounts of flesh, many birds develop skeletal deformities and can barely stand up.
“Thanksgiving is murder on turkeys,” says PETA Vegan Campaign Director Bruce Friedrich. (Editor's note: Brucie is notorious for mudering the concept of good taste in his ad campaigns for PETA). “With fabulous faux fowl, you can give a bird something to be thankful for and celebrate without causing suffering.”
