Is it possible for PETA to soft peddle their porn proclivities?
Probably not. They're hanging their hat (NO! Not there!) on exposing feminine protuberances. A little T & A always draws eyes so why make a legitimate point tastefully when you can do the opening to a "Girls Gone Wild" flick? Here's PETA's press release for their latest prank:
NAKED PETA PROTEST IN SAN JOSE DRAWS CROWD
02/13/06 12:35 PST
SAN JOSE (BCN)
Three young women drew a camera-phone brandishing crowd in downtown San Jose this afternoon when they stripped down to panties and pasties to protest the wearing of fur.
The nubile protesters from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals perched themselves atop an air mattress cover with a pink sheet and held up heart-shaped signs reading "fur out, love in" in front of their chests.
"This is sort of a light-hearted and fun way to draw attention to the issue," PETA spokeswoman and heart-baring protester Brandy Valladoid said. "Every single time we do a protest like this we get an increase in hits to our Web site furisdead.com."
The protesters attracted a steady stream of onlookers, many of them conventioneers from the nearby McEnery San Jose Convention Center, and two San Jose police officers approximately 15 minutes after their noon protest began.
The police officers have spoken with the protesters but so far have made no arrests
